Hello my name is Angela and I joined DLCI a year ago on the suggestion of two friends already members.  I have been made to feel very welcome. A big Thank You to all the committee members past & present!  I know very well what a commitment it is and what hard work it is to do voluntary work having been a volunteer for over 30 years in the UK. 

I moved to France 11 years ago with my husband.

The intention was to have a ‘gap’ year and tour Europe in our motor home………. But we came to the Issigeac market one Sunday morning and that was it …….. we were hooked on this lovely part of France.

In the UK I was a Registered Nurse and worked both in the NHS and Private sector.  So I experienced the best of both worlds.  Best career ever, met and worked with some wonderful people.

We have two grown ‘children’ settled in the UK.  Our son lives in Suffolk (which is where I am from) and a daughter who lives in Bristol.

Here in France I work with my husband managing a small number of gîtes, holiday homes and swimming pools.  We enjoy the flexibility that this offers and have met some amazing clients and guests from around the world.

We both look forward to retiring though!

I love gardening, just as well as we have an acre that was a building site at first.  Gradually over the years the garden has improved.  I particularly enjoy taking cuttings and propagating.  I grow most of the vegetables we eat for approx. 5-6 months of the year, it’s just so rewarding. Love walking, holidays, quizzes, food & wine and F1 racing!! Watching it that is…………..

My other passion is painting, both acrylics and watercolours. Recently attended a couple of courses to improve my skills. It’s a very relaxing and therapeutic hobby.

I look forward to meeting more members of the DLCI over the coming months.
