The Château et jardins des Milandes is a historical site located in Castelnaud-la-Chapelle, Dordogne Périgord. Built in 1489 by François de Caumont, the château is renowned for its stunning views of the Dordogne Valley.

It was restored in the early 20th century and is now dedicated to the life of Joséphine Baker, a prominent artist and WWII Resistance leader. The gardens, designed by Jules Vacherot, feature a variety of birds and are part of the Périgord's Historic Monuments - for more information click here

Please note - there are some stairs in the chateau as part of the tour and no lifts available. However, there are chairs available while touring the chateau, there is an audio guide which you can do at your pace and the restaurant and bird display is only a short walk from the chateau with plenty of seating.
